To mark Valentine’s Day, the White House posted an unusual series of digitally styled cards on social media that fused holiday romance with sharp political commentary. The graphics, shared under the caption “Made just for you,” drew widespread attention and mixed reactions online.
One image showed former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro blindfolded and handcuffed aboard a plane after his reported capture, paired with the message, “You captured my heart.”
Another card featured President Donald Trump holding what appeared to be an executive order, humorously labeled “UR My Valentine.”

A third card depicted Senator Chris Van Hollen with former ICE detainee Kilmar Abrego Garcia in El Salvador, framed inside a heart with the caption: “My love for you is as strong as Democrats’ love for illegal aliens. I’d fly 1,537 miles to have a drink with you!”
There was also a playful Greenland-themed card showing the island in a heart with the phrase “It’s time we define our situationship,” referencing Trump’s past comments about the Arctic territory.
The White House later shared a more traditional Valentine’s image of Trump and First Lady Melania Trump walking hand-in-hand, simply captioned “Happy Valentine’s Day.
