Nigerian shot put athlete Chukwuebuka Enekwechi delivered another impressive performance on the international stage after clinching gold at the prestigious Znamensky Memorial in Russia.
Enekwechi produced a dominant display on the field before sealing victory with a best throw of 21.27 metres — a mark that none of his rivals could surpass throughout the event.
Mexico’s Juan Vazquez Gomez finished second with a throw of 20.13 metres, while Romania’s Andrei Rares Toader secured third place after registering 20.02 metres.
The victory in Russia adds another notable achievement to Enekwechi’s growing list of international honours, and further strengthens his reputation as one of the continent’s elite field-event competitors.
Over the years, Enekwechi has established himself as one of Nigeria’s most dependable field athletes, representing the nation at numerous major international competitions and consistently producing strong performances on the biggest stages.
