The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Headquarters, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, recently engaged stakeholders and commercial drivers in a sensitization programme focused on the prevention of electoral violence and ballot snatching as well as the promotion of safe driving practice through an awareness lecture in commemoration of 2026 National Police Day.

The sensitization exercise took place at the held at Zonal headquarters, with stakeholders, PCRC members, and some members of the public in attendance.

It was aimed at enlightening the residents of Lagos and Ogun States on election violence and ballot snatching, highlighting the dangers involved, and stating the roles and responsibilities of citizens in preventing such acts.

The sensitization of commercial drivers was also carried out as an outreach activity held at the Obalende garage in Lagos State.
AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh emphasized the critical role of commercial drivers in maintaining public order. He charged them to strictly adhere to traffic regulations, avoid reckless driving, overloading, and driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. He reiterated that compliance with traffic laws is essential to reducing road accidents and safeguarding lives and property.

AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh also appreciated all the stakeholders for their support and active participation in the series of events organized to commemorate the 2026 National Police Day.

He also reaffirmed the commitment of the Zonal Headquarters to strategic public engagement aimed at ensuring the safety and protection of the lives and property of residents of Lagos and Ogun states.
