Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been charged with two additional counts of rape, the Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed.
The Ghana international, 32, has already denied five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving three women over alleged incidents between 2021 and 2022. The new charges relate to a separate report of alleged non-recent offences in 2020, first reported in August 2025 following a fresh Metropolitan Police investigation.
Partey, who now plays for Villarreal after leaving Arsenal in June, is due to stand trial in November. His bail conditions allow him to continue playing but require him to inform police of any international travel and prohibit contact with the complainants.
He is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on March 13 for a first hearing. Meanwhile, an Arsenal supporters’ group has criticised the club for continuing to play him during the investigation, calling for greater transparency from the management.
